Free to roam

We finally made it to Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. We hopped from one beach to another moving up the coast of the two islands. De Anne, after careful consideration, pronounced the beach at the north end of Captiva the winner. First prize is a return trip next week.

This begs the question "how did we beach hop?". By car! Last Friday we had a visit from Lindsey and Lynne who were introduced by a mutual friend. They live in Indiana but also have a home in Cape Coral and keep a car down here. They most graciously offered it to us while they were away. We accepted with profound graitude. Sunday we went to Wal-mart without the usual bus ride and transfer each way. It was quite strange to put an item in the cart without carefully judging weight and volume for the walking and bus riding ahead. More importantly, De Anne feels (and me too) less confined with the possibilities of a few beach and sightseeing trips now available. Thank you Lindsey and Lynne!!
