Lazy days of Summer

Finally! A few tropical storms and even a hurricane - properly placed far out in the Atlantic. Still nothing that, in hind sight, would have prevented us from moving on down. De Anne points this out on a semi-regular basis. I remind her of my "luck" and assure her that Mother Nature is simply waiting for us to poke our noses out to sea.

Next week we will go to Atlanta for 2 weeks with her family and our sons. Tristan has been sworn in to the Navy and reports Oct 25th in Rhode Island for Officers Candidate School. Since that is when we start south for the Keys we will visit in September. Theron is flying in from Houston for one week.

Last week we went to Marco Island and had lunch at the Snook Inn. The best clams this Indiana boy has ever tasted! It wasn't just a gastronomical adventure, we were also checking out the anchorage across from the Inn. I now fear we may dally there for an extra day if I can't get rid of the memory of our meal there and require an encore.

The picture below is the Sanibel lighthouse which holds the honor of being the least picturesque light house I have ever seen. This picture does not really do it justice. It is a metal frame work the color of red primer paint. Our first night after leaving Fort Myers we will anchor in the cove behind it.
