Ready for the road

Taking down our 55 foot carbon fiber mast is always a nail-biting experience. First, it is seldom done so I seem to forget some step along the way. Second, having something that big (not to mention expensive!) swinging through the air is nerve-wracking. Even when it goes well it takes a few minutes for the adrenal rush to subside.

Everything is packed for the highway. Stowage must be considered for 60 MPH not the usual 6 MPH. De Anne has done a great job of finding a place for everything. If anything happens to her all is lost - both literally and figuratively.

The first part of the journey is the 750 miles to Turner Marine on Mobile Bay. That will take two days. From then on that many miles will likely consume a few months.

I've added this blog to my morning tabs so I'll be checking it everyday now. If you don't update for an entire month, I'll send a search team. Good luck!
