Family Travels

Saturday we left Marathon (known locally as paradise). Larry gave us a dingy ride to shore and graciously drove us to the airport to pickup a car for our trip to Haines City FL where we stayed with my Uncle Bill and Aunt Gene.

Sunday dinner was hosted by Uncle Jim and Aunt Perilie and attended my cousins and their families.

Monday evening we drove to Fort Lauderdale for our flght to Newport RI, interrupted by a layover in Newark NJ (not paradise). It was great for us country bumpkins to see New York city from the air, fly down Long Island Sound, and circle Newport Harbor & Narragansett bay.

We are in Newport for Tristan's graduation from Navy Officers Candidate School this Friday.

I know this is a little off-topic for a cruising blog; however, every sailor gets shore leave, so this episode and the next will be land based.

Land-based episodes are fine. We just want to hear from you two. Have fun!

Enjoy your trip north, and may you come back to paradise soon! (It's warming up!)
